Catch Me If You Can- Defense

Description:

Every week we learn about skills and movement that will help us play sports. This term’s focus has been around defense. We made a video showing some of the goals we have been practicing. I have highlighted the thing I think I have done well YELLOW and one thing I would like to work on PINK.

Body: My body needs to be shoulder width apart.

WALT: Defensive skills and movements

Success Criteria:

Body Movement

  • Weight on balls of feet
  • Feet shoulder width apart
  • Knees flexed
  • Concentration and eyes on ball, head and eyes up
  • Push hard off outside foot and go forwards to attack pass
  • Quick small feet, stay on balls of feet
  • Arms within confines of body
  • Take feet to ball
  • Land with a SBP

Intercepting
  • Body angled to see player and ball
  • Anticipate pass and player movement
Restrictive Marking
  • Meet player as they start towards the ball/where they want to go
  • stay close to the attacking player
  • Head and eyes up, arms close to body to avoid obstruction/contact
  • Angle body so attacking player is ‘pushed’ away from where he/she wants to go
  • 0.9m from ball carrier

Evaluation: I think that I did well at knocking the ball away from the direction that was heading to the person that I was defending the ball from. The hard part was knowing what time to jump in and grab the ball. What I think I could do better is catch the ball instead of hitting it away.

Feedback/Feedforward: I think you need to work on intersepting the ball. You did well at hitting the ball away. By Hannah C

Passion Project at Spot light

On the weekend we went to Spot light. We went to go get a pattern and some material. But we got even more then what we wanted and it all started when we went to Spot light we went to look at some of the patterns we flicked through some of the magazines to look at some of the dressers. Some flicking later we found the dress that we were looking for. while Mum was getting the pattern sorted Gordon Daddy and I went to look at the materials. Dad and Gordon would tees me and saying that I should get green material. Any way then mum came over with one Spot light staff and then we found some good material and then we asked if we needed an over locker and the lady said that I would be fine with a normal sewing machine and then we asked if I needed a manikin and she said "Well she doesn't need one but if she wants one then it should be OK." but then mum said "It is quite expensive so I don't think we will need one." After that we asked if they sold bone and then the lady said "Yes I will go get some for you." then she went off to go get some. While that was happening mum went to go find a zip and some thread then the lady came back with some bone and mummy came back with some thread and a zip. Last the lady cut the material and then we left.

Passion Project introduction

In class we are starting a new project, it's called Passion Project. Passion Project is a project that you are passionate about. You can learn, make or create. I chose to make it. But before we even started to plan we did a ten minute test and we had to write a page that was things that I liked what was it called you ask it was called a hundred words and you had to write one hundred things that you liked. Then after that we grabbed our think book, device and pencil case and then went on our google drive to copy the Passion project contact into may think book. While I was doing that I was thinking of what was it that I'm going to do for Passion Project?... then BOOM it just popped in my head I knew what I was going to do. I'm going to do fashion!
