Kapahaka post term 3

Description: In term 3 we have been carrying on with Kapahaka. Last term we did a Kapahaka refection post so why not do one for this term and see if we've achieved anything since last term. Recently we have had a consort/ celebration called Pae Tamariki. You may have herd of it I was sick on the day so I got to do this kind of post but the other kids that did perform at the event had to do a post about it.  

Big Idea: My Goals: Last term my goal for Kapahaka was to learn and memorize the song Ho. So I worked on it more than the other songs and yes you guessed it I memorized it. Now In Kapahaka we've been learning a new song called Harei Mai and thats going to be my next goal to learn that song.

Feedback: I think that Bridget did well was explaining what was her goal was last term and what has been happening lately in Kapahaka and what her next goal is

Feedforward: I think that Bridget should have said a little bit more about Pae Tamariki an what its about

Evaluation: The easy and conferment part of Kapahaka is singing with the group but when only a few people sing a different part and I'm in it then I get really nervous and that is the hard part. 

Maths with Kate B

Description: We have to do a post on showing what we have been doing in math this term because if we don't then we haven't done a post on every subject in Poutama that we do. We have been split into 12 groups and there are Kate A, B, C. Rebecca A, B, C. Troy A, B, C. Elly A, B, C. What ever group you are in that is your workshop group for example I'm in Kate B. So this week in Kate B I've been doing multiplication and division. I've shown my work just above.

This is my maths that I've been doing in my workshop:

Big Idea: In the first strategy for the times table was rounding and compensating. The second strategy was known facts. The strategy for the division was doing place value.

Feedback: I think that Bridget did well at showing her math strategies.

Feedforward: I think that Bridget could of done 2 strategies on the division like with the multiplication.

Evaluation: I think that doing the multiplication problem was easier because I've been practicing it more then the division and thats probably why I think that the division was hard. If I were to do it again I would do a different strategy.

Pop art post

Description: In Week 6 we have been doing Pop art we had to do a post of it. This post is a post for our portfolios.

Big Idea: In term 3 we have been split up into different groups one is Passion Projects with Suzanne, one is Pop Art with Kate and the other is drama with Rebecca. I'm in Pop Art with Kate and in Pop Art we searched on google Andy Warhol's Pop Art we thought that his hair was funny but we looked at his Pop Art and did one of our own.

Feedback: I think that Bridget did well at her drawing and keeping in the line. from Naomi: ]

Feedforward: i think Bridget could of worked on making the herts the same size as  the others, besides that keep it up. from : Naomi : }

Evaluation: I think that the hard part was out lining the picture but the easy part was choosing the colours. If I were to do this art again I would do a different picture

My sentences writing sample

Description: To show what we are doing for writing we needed to update the worlds knowledge of what we have been doing. So this post is about our writing in term 3.

Big Idea: In Writing in term 3 we have been writing we have been split into different groups of writing of either Sentences, Ideas or Words. I'm in Sentences and my goal is to complete the FANBOYS. FANBOYS stands for: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet and So. To practice my goal in wriring we chose to write a story. So in writing we have be writing a narrative about this picture

Feedback: I think Bridget did well at making some thing humorous and being creative.
Feedforward: I think that Bridget needs to put more detail into her story.

Evaluation: I think I did well at making things humorous but I think the same that I need to but more detail. If I were to do this story again I would change one of the characters to a fish. 

Production post

Description: As you might know our production is coming up. We are making our things were going to where. We can't buy stuff unless no body has it but we are trying to recycle stuff we have. There are 3 groups. There's... Elements with Troy (earth, wind, fire and water) Rebecca's doing heros and villains and Lucky last Kate's doing out of Africa. I'm doing elements with Troy and I'm earth. (We get to chose what we are!)

Task: The task is to create a wearable art for the production so at the end of the term we can show it at our production.

Purpose: The Production is coming up so we need to propear a costume themed around wearable arts.

What do I think about it: I think that I started with a plan and then only did a tiny part of it. But I think that I know why this happened, I think that this happened because I was Inspired but that is one of the things that we do at RSS is to have Inspiration, Agency, Creativity and Excellence. I think that I did do a good job at using what I really want not just sticking things on. I think that I have shown and strived for Excellence in this peace 

Body art festival news report

Description: In reading in Poutama we do this this called a Tic Tac Toe. There are Questioning Tic Tac Toes and Summarizing Tic Tac Toes. I'm in the Summarizing group so I do the Summerizing Tic Tac Toe. This week week 4 We had to do a post of our Summarizing tic tac toe. We chose to do the body art news report.

Feedback: I liked the way that two girls were saying body art because it was really unique. Naomi

Evaluation: I really liked how we had a unique feature of the back drop girls singing. What I think I could work on was making the summery shorter like Naomi said. If I were to do this tic tac toe again I would probably change my partner because Jazmine couldn't get serious.
