I followed the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process by... Reading on Kiwi kids news and finding some information about the Commonwealth games.

My next step when I use the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process is... I need some more practice of doing my get it sort it use it.

The fun part of the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process was... was using what I know and making it into something that someone else that other people can learn from me.

Te Reo

WALT: use Te Reo in a simple conversation.

Task: create a puppet pals animation to share your Te Reo learning.

Success Criteria

• clear voice
• saying the right words (makes sense) 
• animation matches the words
• trying our best pronunciation

I used a clear voice	I used a clear voice by not mumbling or shouting just using my normal voice.	Bridget uesed a clear voice because i could hear what she was saying.
I used the right words	I practiced so I can say the right word at the right time.	Bridget used the right words.
My animation matched my words	me and Juven practiced so we could match the animation with our words.	Bridget animation did matched her words.
What did I find challenging?	I found challenging to pronouncing the words.	i think Bridget found challenging when she had to say the words right.
What did I like about…	I liked how we could show other people what we are learning around the world.	i liked it when Bridget was saying what the words are.

I love how you have explained what each phrase means so your audience is learning from you and I am pleased that this was something you enjoyed. You have created a clip showing your Te Reo learning. You and Juven worked to make sure your animation matched your words! It can be tricky to learn new words but I think you have a clear voice and your pronunciation is great.

Grasshopper Tennis

WALT: improve our small ball skills and racket control skills.

Success Criteria	I think	My buddy thinks
I can balance and move the tennis ball on my racket.	I think that I'm good cause I go slowly at the start to got the ball moving nicely.	I've seen you do it and I can see that you are good.
I can use the ‘temple’ position to hit the ball across the net to my partner.	I think I'm OK cause some times it happens and sometimes not.	I think your almost there but you just need a little bit more practices
I can use my skills to play games like ‘just juice’ and ‘lobster tennis’.		When I watch you play I see that you look comferdent and you play well.

You can balance the ball and move it on your racket. You use the temple position and your other skills to play 'tennis' games successfully. Remember you don't have to score all the points to have a great time!

Telling The TIme

WALT: share our learning about telling the time

Success Criteria:

What did I learn? I learned that if you show other people your learning it can help them so they can get to the stage that you are

Black Hat

What did I find the most difficult? nothing really was difficult most of it was easy.

Green Hat

What would I do differently if I could start my learning about time again? I would make a movie and show all what I know about time.

You have the correct time and have used clear language to explain how to tell the time, you are a great teacher! This would be a great poster to help kids who are learning to tell the time. Remember the 'tall' hand is the minute hand and the short hand is the hour hand. This might help you as you keep practising telling the time.

What have you learned? I've learned that if I summarise my reading it will help me understand because I can feel the story.

Why is it important? Because then you can feel the character that's in the book like you were that character.

How are you going to use what you have learned? I've learned that if you summarize it will help me understand the the story better

What is your next learning step: my next learning step is to read the text and shear my ideas.

Kinetic/Potential Energy

This is me and my groups Kinetic and Potential Energy movie.

WALT: create an i-movie to demonstrate kinetic and potential energy

How will we know our movie is successful?  

clear camera work (thinking about the sun, keeping the camera still-moving slowly, in focus

clear voices and image (volume, wind, background noises, mumbling)

Reflective Prompts:

I now know that: potential energy is stored energy and kinetic energy is the energy to move

I enjoyed: making the movie and how we decorated it

The most difficult was: planing the where we were to go and the right angel to film

Working with my group was: a little bit hard cause then they will not use your ides if they don't want to 

What great learning about potential and kinetic energy and the swing is a fabulous model to show your learning. A fantastic honest reflection Bridget, it can be tricky working in a group but it can also be very helpful to your learning. You all have to share ideas and work together to grow the most powerful idea.
