Quick write (4 days of school in a week)

In week 8 for our quick write task we had to make an excuse to why there should be ether: 4 days of school, or keep it the same, or 6 week of school. I chose to do one that was 4 days of school and here it is.

I DEMAND TO HAVE 4 DAYS OF SCHOOL IN A WEEK!

AND HERE ARE SOME REASIONS WHY.

First things first children are meant to make the most of their childhood they only have 18 years to be a child. And they need time to play and have fun not to sit in school away from their parents for 30 hours a week. 48 hours of relaxing days is not enough. You wonder why people love Fridays It’s cause they believe that’s the day that’s also going to turn into weekend because its named a weekend but the government doesn’t approve of actually turning the weekends into a 72 hour weekends. Dose the government even care that much for children because I don’t think that they realize that the people in childhood spend more time at school then with their parents. The homework takes 4ever to complete that only gives them time to eat their dinner have a shower get into their pajamas and then get ready for bed. So that means they have… NO TIME TO PPLLAAYY!!!!

So those are my reasons why Fridays should be weekends

inquiry

Description: in term 4 we have been doing an activity called inquiry. There are lots of deferent inquiry groups to choose from. I wanted to learn more about the 3D printer, so That was my first choice.

Why will this benefit future RSS students: I think that my 3D printed creation will benefit the school by inspiring others to make somethings interesting not plane square creations.

Thinking outside of the box: I thought about how I could think outside the box by learning how to make interesting shapes.

Yesterday we had our last day of inquiry. I tried to print the personality sphere, but apparently James said that I'm to smart and creative for the printer, so then I tried to print this:

But that just looked like a messed up mustache. So I tried this instead:

but the stump for the tree ended up like a wonky spiral staircase. The star didn't even print and the tree was just a knotted string of plastic.

So then I whipped something simple up in 20 seconds like this and hopefully it works:

Now I'm called THE PRO! at sketchup. Later on James asked the pros at sketch up (William G and I) to try to make a gun with free hand draw on sketchup. This is my result ( It's bad)

My questions:

1. What did I accomplish? I accomplished being a pro and helper at sketchup.

2. What was the most frustrating/ challenging thing? What difficulties did you encounter? When I           was too smart, too clever and too creative and complicated and It wouldn't print anything                     RIGHT!!!

3. What was your proudest moment in your enquiry? Becoming THE PRO! at sketchup.

reading follow up week 7

These are the following questions in the follow up I need to answer.

• Why do you think the author kept back till now the information about the role that Rezza’s father played in searching for ways to overthrow the Guards? (Pg.96) to add the impacted when they found out.

• Serge is revealed as a spy for the Guards by his glowing fingernail. (Pg.104) Did you predict this? Why? Why not? What signs have there been? no because it was pretty random and I didn't know there were any signs.

• Why do you think the cake tin is so important in the battle to overcome the Guards? To act as a shields.

A I think that Kesai and Rezza felt nervous and frightened.

• Mayer says that people taken away from the camps by the Guards disappeared (Pg.73) What frightened her about that? What do you think happened to them?

A I think that the fact that the people that got taken away was what frightened her.

This is the first chapter:

Pre reading task

Description: In term 4 we have done something a little bit different in reading. We an't doing tic tac toes we are doing literacy ladder. Also we have a a book to read this job was to do a Prediction about whats going to happen in the story.

1. Title - The title sounds like there is a special date.

Cover Design - I think the illustrations look like there is two robots that look evil and then there is a girl that looks out casted and the robots are trying to catch her.

Blurb - In the blurb the part the hooked me in was when it mentions the young female outcasts.

2. Predictions - I think that the story is set in the future and in a prison. I think that the young female outcasts are trying to get away from the robots. And they are a little bit see through so I think that they are like ghosts and they came go through things. The robots look like guards and they have got guns. I think that it’s like in a movie that i watched how you need a special ID to live in the city.
